Challenge >>> Almere is Amsterdam’s closest neighbour city to the East. An ambitious ‘New Town’, it is faced with the challenge of creating opportunities and inspiration for a young population set to double in 10 years. Eager to attract the ‘fashion’ industry, it turned to Fronteer to answer ‘How?’.

Approach >>> In close co-operation with industry experts, we developed a concept to tackle Almere’s main challenge: it’s not perceived as very interesting or cool. Ambitiously, we developed a concept for an artisanal and sustainable denim weaving mill, part school, part company, part research institute. The concept has been greeted with enormous enthusiasm from all around the globe.
