The future of online (innovation) – The Next Web 2010

More and more companies feel that the internet is heavily affecting the way they do business. The whole world is upside down, one person with a positive or negative experience of your product / service can mobilize communities in a flash against or in favor of your business. And the ever increasing snowball of information makes online reputation management a day time job.. At least that’s how it seems.

However, when using the right tools and strategies the internet can actually empower innovation, improve customer loyalty and hand pick all the information you need to know. These tools are already available, but of course we are interested in the tools of the future and these were presented at The Next Web.

The Next Web – What is it?

In the last week of April, the frontrunners of the ‘online’ world assembled in Amsterdam at the Westergasfabriek for The Next Web. The purpose of this event was to provide insights and stimulate discussion on the future of the web. The great line up of keynotes and start-up companies varied  from the actual founder of the World Wide Web (Robert Cailliau, CERN) and the author of the well known book ‘The 4-hour work week‘ (Timothy Ferris) to the start-ups 22 tracks (a new way of sharing the latest music in 22 music genres) and NextToNews (personalized advertisements below articles on news websites). For Fronteer Strategy I tried to grasp as much of these ideas and visions in order to transform them into workable programs for our customers. Please find a short summary inspiring cases below and contact us if you want to know more.
