embraceSuccessful co-creation doesn’t come cheap. It requieres a number of steps to deserve the trust, energy and ideas of a group or a person. One of the most important steps is to embrace a group of strangers as if you have known them for years and show that you trust them completely. For a while now, I have been looking for a visual or movie that depicts this step and I have found it.

In a commercial for the Shangri-La hotel chain the main message is that taking care of a complete stranger lies in the nature of their business. But the nice thing is, this is exactly the emotion our customers feel when they present their problem or idea to a group of hand picked co-creation experts in order to solve it. They literally have to embrace this group of strangers as one of their temporary colleagues and share their problem with them. This means being completely vulnerable and transparent in order to get the best result. I believe that by showing people what that means, they can understand better what the prerequisites are for an expert co-creation and how to make it a succes. And this movie really does all that.  Enjoy the movie below about ‘Embracing a stranger as one’s own’ and let us know what you feel when watching it!
